Hello, Welcome to Accounting 102. This is your first chance as a business major to learn about the different types of management techniques supported by the accounting environment. This class is a little different than your Accounting 101 class in that we do not memorize a lot of formulas and journal entries. We spend most our time learning about "responsibility accounting" which helps top management get a desired behavioral response from their employees. The board of director usually hires top management to improve the current stock price while keeping the company's overall goodwill positive. By utilizing many of the topics covered in this class, management can meet these goals with the help of the managerial accountant. Let us open up our minds for some new ideas and start exploring the interesting world of managerial accounting. |
